The goal of the program is to develop students’ understanding of social issues in the world around them and have them develop the critical thinking and communication skills they need to be active and productive participants and leaders in their world. The curriculum subjects of both geography and history are studied in French in Cycle One. Through the study of geography, students develop an understanding of the development of societies from a spatial point of view. The History and Citizenship component enables students to understand the processes of social change. Elective courses at Secondary IV and V allow for more depth and breadth of exploration of issues.
