Search The Bialik OPAC

The Bialik Library catalog is available on the desktop of all computers in the school as well as on the Web. Our entire collection of books, videos, CD, DVDs, audios and equipment can be accessed using the OPALS catalog:.

Searching OPALS

Standard Search:
Search by Author, Title or Subject. Use keywords from the Title or Subject of the item you are searching for.

Enhanced Search:
Combine search terms, or search in specific fields such as Call Number, Date or Publisher.

Visual Search:
Search for materials by theme, such as Arts, Sports, or Countries.

Search Results:
If items are found in the Bialik Library which match your search, the Results List automatically appears. The Call Number appears next to each item. All library resources are shelved according to Call Number, which is based on the Dewey Decimal System. This consists of numbers and letters in a specific combination. The Call Number is located on the spine of the book, or is displayed prominently on the item you are looking for on the library shelves.

Item Details:
Clicking on an item in the Results List indicates whether it is available or signed out, as well as return dates. It also provides links to other works by the same author, as well as links to works on the same subject in the library collection.
