Programs

Hebrew

This is an introduction to the Hebrew language and to the Jewish holidays and customs. The children will learn history through stories and songs and will enjoy a Shabbat each Friday. They will be exposed to Hebrew vocabulary through games and art activities.

Math & Science

The children will develop an understanding for numbers and the basis for early math skills, and they will be introduced to shapes, addition, and subtraction. They will be encouraged to find different answers by noticing their surroundings. Concepts such as freezing, melting, sinking, and floating will be addressed.

Physical Development

Gross motor skills are encouraged on a daily basis. The children spend time in the gym, where they participate in specially planned activities as part of the English program. Once a week, a gym specialist comes in and does exciting programs with the children. We use our outside playground as often as the weather allows. Only the coldest or hottest days keep us inside.

Fine Motor Skills

The children will learn to develop their fine motor skills through many activities, such as puzzles and table-top games. They will be encouraged to improve their dexterity through different art activities using crayons, markers, pencils, paints, and scissors. As with other activities, they will be encouraged to express themselves through different media.

Music & Dance

We have a music specialist once a week who plays the piano and teaches a variety of holiday songs and exciting movements. Music is a part of all of our programs. Each of the teachers teaches songs and dances relevant to their theme and specific language. All this helps the children to increase their co-ordination, attention span, and ability to express themselves physically.

Social Development

Children will be encouraged to make good choices. They will also be taught to become aware of their social environment. We will work on good manners and respect for others and teach empathy towards each other.

Emotional Development

Self-esteem is extremely important. We encourage and praise the children throughout the day with a smile, positive comments, or a hug. Our goal is to help the children feel good about themselves and confident to continue learning and asking questions.
