Board of Directors

The Board is the main policy-setting body of JPPS-Bialik. It meets eight times a year. It consists of the 9 officers, 14 chairs of committees and 9 Campus reps, 6 from the elementary school, 3 from Bialik. Teachers, Home and School, Concert and Bialik students also send representatives (a total of 44 Directors from the parent body). Most senior administration attend, as do ex-officio trustees.

The primary goal of Board is the long term viability of this system. Other responsibilities include setting policies and budget, fund-raising, ambassadorship and senior personnel decisions. The Board is guided by the Mission of the school.

The Board, in partnership with the administration, sets the objectives; staff implements them. To serve on the Board, you must have served at least two years on a committee or constituency group and be a member in good standing. Board members are listed in the Annual Report.

The Executive

The Executive meets at least twice as often as the Board and plays a co-ordinating and recommending role. The nine officers are listed below. Also on the Executive are two chairs of Education Committee, the president of Bialik High school, two members at large and the Directorate (Principals, Executive Director, Government Liaison).

Bialik High School is governed by a high school governing board, which reports to the Board of Directors of JPPS-Bialik, i.e., the legal corporate entity that owns the building and the MELS permits.

The Executive Committee of JPPS-Bialik presents all requests from the Bialik Governing Board to the JPPS-Bialik Board of Directors.
