Expanding on the exploration of their immediate environment, students continue a relationship with the surrounding world, i.e., the community, the City of Montreal, the Province of Quebec, the country of Canada.
Historical time is a difficult concept for children of elementary school age. Students are exposed to the notions of cause and effect, sequence, and chronology through examining their own personal and family histories and charting personal time lines.
