Home and School

Jewish People’s Schools & Peretz Schools has a long-standing tradition of volunteerism on many levels. The Home & School Association is one of the volunteer organizations, which helps to enrich our children's school experiences and contributes to the efficient functioning of our school. It is a cooperative venture by parents and staff, and serves as a liaison between the administration and the parent body. The Home & School Association has representation on the Board of Directors.

Did you know that the Home & School Association:

  • Publishes the school calendar and agenda
  • Helps to organize grade level holiday celebrations
  • Provides traditional foods associated with each holiday
  • Organizes an annual Chanukah Party for JPPS families
  • Sponsors the Chai Foundation - which is responsible for grade level workshops i.e. making mezuzahs, making your own lulavs, visiting the Shofar factory
  • Organizes an annual Book Sale within the school for the purchase of the required Hebrew and Yiddish text books
  • Organizes fundraising and other events, such as the Used Uniform Sale, Fall Chocolate Sale, the Festival of the Arts, Passover Chocolate Sale, and the ClassPaks Fundraiser, to name a few
  • Provides hot lunches: pizza, pasta, Friday soup days, end of year BBQ
  • Runs the Challah program
  • Responsible for organizing school photos
  • Sponsors the reception following Graduation as well as the gift for each graduate

Your Home and School membership fee of $20.00 per family per year goes towards the carrying out of all these activities and more.

As a result of our fundraising efforts, your Home & School Association is proud to continue funding the Lunchtime Sports Program which benefits all students at JPPS.

Any amount of involvement from our parent body is greatly appreciated and valued, both by the Home & School and by your children. To volunteer your time, please call any of our Home & School representatives. Find out how YOU can become more involved in your child’s school life!
