Fall

The Fall sport season is an excellent chance for students to meet other students, try a new sport and enjoy the wonderful weather. Bialik offers several teams, including Juvenile boys touch football, boys and girls soccer, girls softball, and golf. The golf season consists of several practices along with a one-day tournament held at a course in the Montreal area. The tournament is an excellent chance for experienced and intermediate golfers to hone their skills in a competitive setting, while meeting fellow golfers from other schools. The Juvenile boys football season is short but intense, with 6 or 7 games spread out over September and October. Boys and Girls soccer are popular sports at Bialik. Teams compete in the GMAA/QAIS leagues as well as the JISA soccer tournament. Girls’ softball is a new program at Bialik, with games beginning early in the school year, for students in grades 9-11. The season begins in September and lasts until the middle of October.

Winter

Basketball is the premier sport at Bialik, with 8 teams offered in the Bantam, Midget, and Juvenile divisions. We offer high quality coaches and facilities. Teams are entered in the highly competitive Division 1 as well as the more participation oriented Divisions 2 and 3. Tryouts will begin early in the school year, with the season running from October to March. In addition to regular league play, many of our basketball teams also enter tournaments during the fall and winter months.

Other winter sports at Bialik include wrestling, swimming, and floor hockey. Wrestling begins in early November and runs throughout the winter. We have an excellent group of coaches, and a committed team that practices several times a week. The swim team competes in several meets held during the winter months. Our team practices at the Cote St. Luc aquatic center one to two times a week. Floor hockey competes in the JISA tournament, which typically occurs during late March.

Spring

Bialik offers a variety of sports during the Spring season. The Spring season runs from March through to the end of May. Depending on student interest, there are badminton, tennis, track and field, girls’ touch and flag football, and boys’ baseball. Girls’ football is one of the most popular sports at Bialik. Teams compete in the GMAA, in both the flag and touch divisions. Track and Field consists of two meets with schools from all over Montreal. Students compete in a variety of events, including the 400 meter, 200 meter, 100 meter, and high jump. Our tennis teams enter the GMAA tournaments. Students compete in doubles and singles competition during April and May. Baseball is a popular and growing sport at Bialik. Our team plays home games at the beautiful Trudeau Park, and competes against several other Montreal High schools. We also attend an annual tournament held at the stadium in downtown Ottawa.
