Important news regarding tuition assistance at JPPS-Bialik for the school year 2019-2020

Tuition assistance for the school year 2019-2020

Only families with a gross household income (based on employment, including self-employment) of less than $75,000 annually are eligible to apply. Families with an income of more than $75,000 are asked to apply directly to the C.A.P.S. program created by the Generations Fund for Educational Excellence from Federation CJA. (www.generationsfund.ca). Their website has the information on this program and is currently accepting applications. Please pay special attention to the deadlines which are indicated on the website.

JPPS-Bialik is part of a network of schools affiliated with an arms-length organization called Financial Aid for Canadian Students (FACS) that provides a confidential analysis of a family’s financial ability to contribute towards the school’s tuition fees. A school committee then uses a JPPS-Bialik Board approved evaluation grid as well as the FACS analysis in recommending the family’s tuition fees while keeping within the school’s Tuition Assistance funds budget constraints.

Families are asked to apply online, directly with the FACS organization (click on www.applefinancialservices.ca and select the school year 2019-2020). The instructions are on the website and can be followed easily. It is possible that you will be asked to submit information that was previously submitted. It is important that you follow the instructions properly and submit the information that is requested. No application will be processed if it is received after March 29, 2019.

For those of you who do not have access to a computer, you can request a paper application by calling: (416) 730-9900 which you can either fax or mail back.

There is a small application fee which is to be paid by the applicant. The fee must be paid by credit card. If you do not have a credit card, it is suggested that you purchase a loadable cash card at a pharmacy, grocery store or Bureau en Gros. This will be needed in order to complete the application.

If you have any questions in regards to the application, I encourage you to contact Apple Financial Services at (416) 730-9900. If this process is unclear, please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned at (514) 731-3841, extension 222.

Respectfully,

Betina Shadowitz
